Consultant, Rebecca Skippage Consulting
Rebecca is one of the world’s leading experts in disinformation, media manipulation and information integrity. A BBC journalist for more than 25 years, in 2018 she started the BBC’s first team dedicated to countering disinformation, and was the BBC’s first Global Disinformation Editor 2021-25. Rebecca has advised the UK government, EU and NATO. She now writes, speaks and advises organisations on how to understand the information ecosystem, and counter narrative manipulation by effectively communicating ‘good’, accurate information to customers, audiences and communities. In 2025, she hosted and moderated NATO StratCom’s Digital Frontlines Conference, and worked with Google DeepMind to launch their AI-verification tool SynthID, leading workshops across three continents to ‘red team’ the product, and chairing panels on the use of synthetic media in journalism. Rebecca was a fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford 2020/21, where she focused on how Public Service Media should learn from ‘bad actors’ to reach those currently missing accurate information.
