Peter Frankopan is Professor of Global History at Oxford University. His books include The Silk Roads: A New History of the World; The New Silk Roads: The Present and Future of the World; and The Earth Transformed: An Untold History. Peter regularly works with multi-lateral organisations including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UNDP, UNIDO, UNESCO as well as government advisory work.Described as a ‘rockstar’ academic by the BBC and the New Statesman, Peter has been called ‘the first great historian of the 21st century’ by Brazil’s DCM magazine. He has been President of the Royal Society for Asian Affairs since 2020.
