Data Scientist, NATO StratCom COE's AI Laboratory
Jean-Romain Roy leads audience modeling and simulation in the AI Laboratory at the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence. Before joining the Centre, he worked in Ukraine, Lebanon, and across Sub-Saharan Africa, supporting the United Nations, the National Democratic Institute, Geneva Call, and other international organizations in collecting and analyzing data from hard-to-reach communities affected by crisis and conflict. Combining mixed-methods social research with applied data science, he has helped inform monitoring and behavioural-change programmes. He holds a Master of Computer Science from McGill University and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal.
