Deputy Secretary General, National Security Council, Taiwan
LIN Fei-fan is Deputy Secretary-General of Taiwan’s National Security Council. He is also a board member of New Frontier Foundation, a think tank affiliated with Taiwan’s ruling party Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). At the New Frontier Foundation, Lin contributes to the formulation of President-elect Lai’s campaign platforms, with a strong focus on foreign and national security. Lin served as Deputy Secretary-General of the DPP under the leadership of chairperson Cho Jung-tai and Tsai Ing-wen from 2019 to 2023. Lin was a student activist before starting his political career. He was known as a student leader in the 2014 Sunflower Movement and the 2008 Wild Strawberry Movement, among several other civil movements. Lin holds a MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a MA in Political Science from the National Taiwan University (NTU).
