Speaker BIO

COL Brent Hamilton currently serves as the USEUCOM J39, Information Operations and Special Activities Division chief. COL Hamilton previously served as the Chief of IO Plans and Operations for USECUOM from 2023-2025. He was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Minnesota, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology of Law, Criminology and Deviance.

His first duty assignment was to Camp Castle, Republic of Korea where he served as a combat engineer platoon leader. He subsequently served as the Facility Engineer for the Joint Detention Operations Group in Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Following a short assignment at the Army Training and Doctrine Command, he deployed to Iraq as a Military Transition Team Operations Advisor in the vicinity of Kirkuk, Iraq. After completing the Engineer Captain’s Career Course, he served as a staff officer in the 94th Engineer Battalion and later as the Commander, 77th Engineer Company in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

In 2012, COL Hamilton transitioned to the Information Operations functional area. He ultimately served as an IO staff officer at the Brigade, Sub-Unified Command, and Geographical Combatant Command-levels. His IO assignments include a deployment to Afghanistan and serving as the Director of the Army Information Operations Qualification Course.

COL Hamilton is a 2009 graduate of the University of Missouri Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri where he received an MS in Geological Engineering. He is also a 2023 graduate of the National War College at Fort McNair, Washington D.C. He and his wife Dani have one daughter and reside in Stuttgart, Germany.
