Speaker BIO

Rory Cormac is a writer and historian specialising in the study of covert action and secret statecraft. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, a professor of International Relations at the University of Nottingham, and author of six books, including Disrupt and Deny, the Black Door, and Secret Royals. He has presented documentaries on Channel 4 and PBS, and his research and commentary articles have appeared in many international media outlets. Cormac has shared his research with government audiences on both sides of the Atlantic and has testified before the UK and Australian Houses of Parliament on subversion, disinformation, and electoral interference. His most recent book is How to Stage a Coup and 10 Other Lessons from the World of Secret (2022).
