With an academic background in strategic communication, political science, and sociology, Martina Smedberg has spent most of her time as a career diplomat at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During this period, she spent considerable time on media and communication issues. The last position at the Ministry was held in Brussels as the Spokesperson for the Swedish EU representation before joining the private sector. In the private sector, she worked as the Head of Press at the multinational corporation IKEA. Currently, she is a Program Manager and researcher at the Psychological Defence Research Institute at Lund University in Sweden.
