In October 2024, Christian has joined the management of Lie Detectors, an award-winning media literacy organisation empowering young people to tell fact from fake online in several European countries. He is the former Secretary General of the Assembly of European Regions (AER), a pan-European platform of regional governments. Largely, his career has been shaped by media and communication: He was a business editor for a daily newspaper, spokesperson in the digital industry and at the EU Commission, and led a media development cooperation programme in Southeast Europe for Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. Digital literacy, disinformation and the role of the media in democracy have been key topics in Christian’s functions.
